Our client is a Swiss company specialising in the development and production of solutions for the plastics industry. Since it was founded 35 years ago in the canton of Schwyz, the company has made a name for itself internationally and has significantly expanded its range of products and services through continuous investment in research and development, primarily at its Swiss headquarters. Specifically, the company focuses on masterbatches and compounds that are used in processed form in various markets and industries (food packaging, hygiene and cosmetics, consumer goods, healthcare, construction and textiles). We are looking for an Account Manager Plastics to join the Sales team as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
Budgeting for existing accounts and growth opportunities within your area of responsibility
Implement annual sales targets and strategies within assigned territory
Develop and maintain a project pipeline using CRM and ERP systems
Converting leads into new customers and maintaining existing customer relationships while meeting budget targets
Analyse customer and product performance and market trends
Monitor customer orders in liaison with customer service
Report customer complaints and work with customers to find solutions
Manage sample requests based on project opportunities
Manage customers indirectly through business partners
Monitor competitor activity and report back to sales team
Plan monthly travel for customer visits, conferences and business meetings in line with priorities and annual budget
Represent the company at conferences and congresses, either as an attendee or speaker.
Your profile
University degree in economics, chemistry, chemical engineering or plastics processing
At least 5 years of professional experience in a European environment, preferably in the plastics industry and/or masterbatch and compound markets, plastics processing or plastics machinery.
Proven ability to acquire new customers, build and maintain customer relationships and implement business strategies
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
Willingness to travel frequently, with a minimum 50% travel requirement
Excellent written and spoken English skills are required, German, French or Spanish are a big plus
